Updates and installation

Update check says offline

What it means: Sthang could not reach its fixed private update service.

Safe recovery: Confirm that Windows can reach updates.sthang.app over HTTPS, then use Check for updates again. Sthang does not require GitHub access and does not change providers or update servers when offline.

Stop if: Other trusted websites work but the update service remains unavailable. Wait rather than changing update sources.

Manifest could not be validated

What it means: The update description was missing, malformed, corrupt, or could not pass validation.

Safe recovery: Wait and explicitly retry later. A failed manifest remains closed and does not install anything.

Stop if: The same validation message returns. Do not download a replacement manifest or installer from an unofficial location.

Sthang is busy

What it means: Protected financial or wallet-authenticated work has not reached an idle state.

Safe recovery: Stop active mint, transfer, Sweep, signing, broadcast, and wallet-authenticated scan work. Wait for a clear final state such as succeeded, failed, stopped, or expired, then explicitly retry the update.

Stop if: A result is ambiguous. Do not cancel, retry, or replace work merely to make the update proceed.

Activation and data

License is not active after an update

What it means: Sthang cannot confirm the existing activation under the current Windows profile.

Safe recovery: Do not delete application data. Confirm that you are using the same Windows profile and that the system clock is correct. Restore only from your verified backup or contact the private licensing channel.

Stop if: Activation does not return after those checks. Do not request or create a replacement license as a workaround.

Configuration is unavailable

What it means: The stable data directory is missing, incomplete, or contains an inconsistent configuration pair.

Safe recovery: Close Sthang before restoring data. Restore the full %LOCALAPPDATA%\co.sthang.app\ backup so encrypted configuration, attempt history, and duplicate-prevention records remain consistent.

Stop if: A newer directory or conflicting pair already exists. Never overwrite it; retain separate copies and ask for private support.

Escalation

Private escalation

If safe recovery does not resolve the issue, contact the Sthang owner through the private support channel. Share only:

• The displayed error text.
• The installed Sthang version and Windows version.
• The exact step that failed and whether active work was already stopped.

Never send wallet material, license contents, provider URLs, configuration files, logs, updater credentials, or screenshots that contain them.
